Biography
Hayoun Kwon studied at Le Fresnoy Art School in France and co-founded Innerspace VR. Fascinated by virtual reality, a medium that allows us to question the truth, she has been developing work on memory, and its rendering into VR, for several years now. Her work includes one of the first documentaries in VR: D.M.Z., Memories of a No Man's Land and more recently the installations Gauguin Inner Journey for Grand Palais/Musée d'Orsay in Paris, Peach Garden (distributed by Diversion Cinema), Xth Attempt for the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul and Kubo Walks the City. Her projects have been awarded at numerous festivals: Epic Grant 2019, Award of Distinction Computer Animation Ars Electronica, Linz, 2018 - 1st Prize for Jury of the Ministry for Culture, Oberhausen Int. Short Film Festival, 2016 - Bronze Experience Oculus Mobile VR Jam, 2015 - Prix Découverte des Amis du Palais de Tokyo, Paris, 2015 - ARTE Creative Newcomer Award, Osnabrück, 2014.
