Biography
Gayatri Parameswaran is an award winning writer, director and producer of immersive works. Currently based in Berlin, she was born and raised in India. Gayatri is co-founder of NowHere Media -- a storytelling studio that views contemporary issues through a critical lens. Her work has been exhibited at the Venice International Film Festival, SXSW, Festival de Cannes, HotDocs, United Nations and beyond. She is a Sundance New Frontier alumnus, has won the ‘Best Use of Immersive Arts’ at SXSW 2019 and the Lumiere Award for ‘Best VR documentary’ among other accolades. Gayatri is a guest lecturer at several universities including the Freie Universität (FU) Berlin, Hochschule für Medien, Kommunikation und Wirstchaft (HMKW) and Züricher Hochschule der Kunst (ZHdK).
가야트리 파람스와란은 유수 영화제에서 수상 경력이 있는 이머시브 작업의 인도 출신의 감독이자 작가, 프로듀서이다. 현재는 베를린을 기반으로 작업하고 있다. 가야트리는 현대 사회의 문제를 비판적인 시각으로 바라보는 스토리텔링 스튜디오 ‘NowHere Media’의 공동설립자이기도 하다. 그녀의 작품은 베니스국제영화제, SXSW, 칸영화제, HotDocs, UN 등에 전시되었다. 또한 선댄스 뉴프론티어 동문으로 2019년 SXSW의 ‘Best Use of Immersive Arts’와 뤼미에르 어워드의 ‘Best VR documentary’ 등을 수상했다. 또한, 가야트리는 다수의 대학교에서 초대 교수를 역임하기도 했다.
