SIM: The Blind

Synopsis

SIM: THE BLIND is a story based on "Simcheongga" one of the five surviving stories of the pansori storytelling tradition. Pansori is a traditional Korean genre of musical storytelling performed by a single singer and a drummer, recognized as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
In a post-apocalyptic world full of polluted fine dust and poor visibility, SIM: THE BLIND is a sound focused VR content of an adventure of Sim Hakgyu, the blind swordsman. The audience can experience how blind people see the world while listening to the story from the pansori singer/actor/narrator.

Biography

Cooper Sanghyun Yoo is a creative technical director based in Seoul Korea. Prior to joining Seokyeong University as a professor in entertainment technology, he worked in various fields such as interactive performance, digital media exhibition, and extended reality. His research interests include audience interaction, interactive media, mixed reality, game design, and collective intelligence.
